Ran$burg has applied to fill the vacancy on the District 150 school board. If rumor and gossip hold water, it looks like he has the votes to get the job.
Ran$burg would be representing the District 3 spot which covers the most northern area of District 150, one of the few places Ran$burg enjoyed strong support in his last failed mayoral campaign. Yup. This means Ran$burg has a good shot at winning the seat come election time should he choose to pay -er- I mean run for it.
I don't think Porky Pig really wants the job. Ran$burg never went out of his way to support the public schools as a councilman or mayor. At debates and forums he pretty much picked his snout, scratched his butt, and said -more or less- "Without more money, there's not a lot the City can do to help public schools." Which leaves me wondering and (grasping at false hope) why in the hell current school board members would gift him the job?!
I think this is just pay back, pure and simple. Because of his reason for seeking the position, I don't believe Ran$burg will make much of a difference on the school board. It does suck that we are going to have to endure his image in local media for the foreseeable future.

Porky Pig! *snert* I've always thought he looks like Humpty Dumpty. During the campaign I would sometimes yell "HUMP-TAY!" when he'd appear on TV.
Porky Pig, Humpty Dumpty, Elmer Fudd, didn't Willy Nilly call him Jabba the Hut for awhile? I really like HUMP-TAY. Think I might use that. Thanks!
Dang, you is one mean one regarding ol' Davey, Polly... I gets the feeling ya just don't care too much fer him. Speakin' of "Porky," you ever notice that Andrea Pendleton looks sorta like "Petunia Pig"? She's one of them there trustees in Peoria Heights, and she's also gots a GPSD Board job... just like ol' Georgie Jacob... 'ceptin' Georgie had the good sense to resign his position. Ol' Petunia sorta likes the extra money, I guess.
yes to Dave and what the hell does he want to do on the school board? other than create conflict. maybe he wants to make sure it gets shut down so that his end of town could link up to Chillicothe or Dunlap then all of his buds wouldnt have to shell out bucks for Peoria Christian or Notre Dame??
and yeah I get the Andrea Pendleton connection--- she's a shrew. just watch her on channel 22 and get her persona! she gives a whole new take on 'acid mouth'. gpsd can have her. one more reason why I'm glad I dont live in the heights when I see her in action!!!
