I'm not a great fan of the Iraqi war. I would just like some proof that the majority of Iraq's citizens want us there. Yes, I know the liberal media is never going air such views if they exist, but frankly, the conservative media hasn't provided much in the way of evidence either.
That said, I respect and appreciate our military serving and putting their lives on the line in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. I am aware that they have an incredibly difficult job - one I could never do. I also never forget that military personnel doesn't get to vote about going into combat, they are ordered.
Vonster reminds us war is always painful, but occasionally it is even worthwhile.

Dear Stormin' Norman,
You seem to be harboring a lot of anger and resentment. I recommend talk therapy and a combination of Xanex and Celexa.
To quote former President/Wanker Clinton, "Just because we can't help everyone, everywhere doesn't mean we should help anyone anywhere."
Some offspring of the poor and/or stupid actually make something of themselves. For example, former President/Wanker Clinton.
Seriously, when you are done visiting Matt Hale's cell and having drinks with Chase, see a doctor. You'll be happier for it.
Love,
Polly
Mr. Stormin, I used to live in Peoria, most of my life actually. I have to admit I came across just as many poor stupid white folk as I ever did black. Stupidty doesn't seem to discriminate...obviousely.
By the way Polly...great blog.
The Chicago Tribune's real estate section reported the weekend before last that the real estate market is good in Iraq.
Early, I read a piece from the Heritage Foundation, I think, that said small houses in the Shitte slum were going to $45,000.
That might be reason to be more optimistic than you are.
