This just in: Ingersoll gives the gift that keeps on giving.... Homelessness

The Grandview Hotel is going to close any moment. The latch ditch effort to get another day in court failed.

I watched. It was painful. Horribly, terribly, painful. Think root canal. Peoria City Attorney, Randy Ray, was his pathetic self. I would have been concerned, but an even more pathetic attorney represented the Grandview Hotel residents. Judge Barra was stuck. It was obvious that Barra didn't want to evict the hotel guests, but simply put, THEY HAD NO CASE. As an act of charity, Barra gave them another fourteen days to file, but could not find any valid cause to stay his order closing the hotel. Barra stated the residents case didn't come close to showing any property rights, let alone a violation of due process.

IMHO: The sad excuse for a lawyer representing the hotel guests led his clients down a path he knew he was going to lose, he didn't even put forth much of an effort. (The guy didn't seem prepared, let alone capable of passing the bar exam.) Barra even tried to help him out by attempting to clue him on the very basics of law. I'm telling you. It hurt to watch.

I wonder if this whole drama would have concluded differently if either side had semi decent legal representation. If The City had been more legally aggressive, the hotel would have been shut down sooner. If Ingersoll, Jain, or the hotel residents had been able to exploit The City's inadequate legal representation with a half way decent lawyer of their own, they could have probably kept this in Court for years.

So, it's all over. The only thing left to do is wait for the Red Cross van to show up and watch for the next sad stunt Chase will try. Chain himself to the doors perhaps? Declare all hotel residents live in employees? Declare the purchase invalid and turn the property back over to Jain? Whatever comes next, you can count on it to be feeble, transparent and useless.

It ain't over until the disbarred attorney sings.

"they can’t
just throw us out.
At least not until
their order is final."

WTF?! Stop lying to these people Chase! YOU LOST (at every turn). THEY (unsuspecting residesnts who were told that they even had a case) LOST.

The City can now legally throw Grandview residents to the curb at any second and lock up the property. Your only hope is that they (The City) has a little holiday pity for your clientel. After dealing with the ever annoying pathetic piece of crap that is YOU, pity isn't likely.

My guess: Your arrogance, lack of respect for civil procedure and the law has left you at the brink of financial ruin. The more desperate you become the more grandiose your lies. Saw you on the news tonight, Chase. Pretty sad... you are clearing loosing it.

It's not a matter of the city or the judge or anyone else knowing the law. The law was on their side months ago.

It's a matter of the city attorney Ray and the judge having the balls to do what the law allowed. Randy Ray has pussyfooted around on so many issues regarding Ingersoll it's ridiculous. His mealy mouthed nonsense the past few weeks is sickening. Who does he represent anyway? In the meantime we tax payers foot the bill for this clown Ingersoll's continued self-amsusement.

Move these people out. Shut this place down. And shut Ingersoll up.

Fix up the hotel, make it a four star enterprise, and put these hotel residents to work there, Chase. Borrow the bucks, the feds will chip in a lot, I bet, if they know you're going to put these poor unfortunates to work, and save several rooms for their living quarters.

You could make it the sort of place it was in the 70s, when Jim's was there... and then Judge Barra, Angela Anderson, and all the rest will be begging for special service at the Ingersoll Hotel and Grille.

It's a no-brainer... time to step up and make the big bucks.

Supreme Court Rule 304 doesn't help you and you know it, Chase. Even if it did, someone in a higher court would have to overturn Barra, and that has yet to happen. Judge Barra did NOT stay his own order to close the hotel.

My guess: The City doesn't want news footage of Grandview Guests being dragged out the Hotel into the freezing cold five days before Christmas.

I hope Santa leaves you the Zoloft you so desparately require in your stocking this year, next to the coal.

Old boy needs more than Zoloft.

Chase,

In re:

"This was why the Appellate Court issued me a rule to show cause why my appeal should not be dismissed under this rule, and refused to grant me a stay. A stay is un-necessary when there has not be a rule 304 finding, because according to the rule the judgement is not final anyway."

Okay, Chase, you wanna play legal? Fine. I have a sore throat and a cold, there is nothing decent on cable, and I don't feel up to doing anything even mildly productive so I might as well put you in your place. Silly me, I should know that isn't possible with the truly insane. Chase, I think you could be on death row, strapped down a table, moments away from having a lethal injection shoved up your arm, and you would have a sh-t eating grin on your face while glibbly stating your last words. Something to the effect of, "Won't you all be sorry when I file my wrongful death suit."

What you strangely believe to be a victory from the appellate court is actually a slap. The Appelate Judge's ruling was a statement that you are not even in the game. He took mercy on you and tried to clue you in on the basics of law. He was trying to let you know that at the moment, you are not even playing in the right ball park. The only course of action you have is to file a Rule to Show Cause (golly, doesn't that sound familiar - you and Randy Ray have something in common) for the Appellate Court to even consider the matter. An RTC probably won't help, but at least a higher court could consider it.

Those of us who haven't been disbarred (yet) know that since the Appellate Court feels it has no juridiction, 303 and 304 don't apply. You can attempt to use them in a pathetic appeal, but unless and until the Appellate takes an interest, the City is completely within its right to shut the Grandview down. No one has overruled Barra. Even if you could somehow win on Appeal, The City is protected by Judge's Order. One can't be found liable for obeying a Judge's order even if it is later overturned. No Stay on the Closure Order has been given. Your best hope for keeping the joint open is continued Christmas spirit, which you seem to be going out of your way to erode.

Uh, Chase, the Judge said YOU were just blowing smoke. A/K/A: You have no case.

According to a press release on that "media when it suits me" hypocrite Bill Dennis' site, Ingersoll filed for bankruptcy protection.

I hope the state revokes the charter or the sham Disbarred Ltd. and that someone really delves int it's books. It's nothing but a shell for sure. It's one thing if this dipstick wants to harm himself by his antics but he's harmed so many others, cost clients, former clients and taxpayers undue expenditures and cost too many people much undeserved grief. Maybe he'll decide to stay in California but my guess is that whomever he's visiting there will only be too happy to see him get back on the plane for Peoria.
